Are your artificial sweeteners killing you slowly?
The average American eats 180lbs of sugar a year…gross! There are artificial sweeteners that claim they are healthier but in reality they’re not. If you are eating foods that include saccharin, aspartame, malitol, or high fructose sugar, then you are at risk of aging quickly, weight gain, and prepping your body for disaster. These artificial sweeteners are undercover slow killers. Lab studies show that these sweeteners can cause cancer and a number of diseases. Try using natural sweeteners that are healthier. These include Truvia (stevia) and agave. I’m not anti-sugar but moderation is key. I carry these packets of Truvia with me so that I can use it as needed. As far as sweetness, 1 packet is equivalent to 1 packet of splenda.

I also believe if we give our bodies the right nutrients and care, it can be strong enough to heal itself. There’s a BIG misconception on health nowadays. I feel like it’s my duty to share with you what I have learned on my road of discovery about nutrition and holistic health. This knowledge can help change your life and the life of others. Do not be overwhelmed with all the info. Do what you can and have belief that every little counts. I hope you too will see the changes in your body, like I did with mine.
Make your own Shakeology shakes that are fresher and cheaper in the long run. The super foods that I mentioned in my earlier post like camu camu, maca, cacao, etc, along with this awesome supplement called Green Vibrance, and your daily multivitamin can be added as boosters in your smoothie. I’ve read over most of the ingredients in the Shakeology chocolate shake and the boosters are good but the fruits are not fresh bc they use fruit powders instead of real fruit. Even if they did use real fruit, they would have to pasteurize it to kill any possible bacteria, unless its cold pressed. This kills the nutritional value. Shakeology shakes are also very expensive. No matter what, I believe Shakeology is a good way to detox and as a meal replacement but you can make your own fresh smoothies with organic fruits, veggies, and just add your boosters. The start up price for all the boosters may be expensive in the beginning but it will save you money in the long run bc the boosters will last more then a month. By making your own shakes, you have more control in what’s in your smoothie, it will be fresher, cheaper, and you will also develop this into an everyday habit.
ACV is liquid power-
Apple cider vinegar is one of the things I take daily. I either mix it with water or I put it in my daily smoothies. The main benefit of acv is it makes your body more alkaline, which a acidic environment is caused by a poor diet, meds, and stress. It also detoxifies your body, good for joint pain/arthritis/gout, cures allergies, skin issues, and cures acid reflux. It can also be used topically for burns, acne, infections, and can be used as a natural cleaning product.
Are you working out too hard?
According to this article, working out too many consecutive days and doing high intensity workouts may do more harm then good. It can cause stress and drain your adrenal glands.If you feel tired, constantly hunger, and for ladies, have irregular periods bc of your intense workouts, this is not a good sign. Listen to your body. If your tired, you should rest or try a more relaxed exercise like yoga. What vitamins should women take?
This is a chart of recommended supplements for women. The supplements I see missing are the digestive enzymes and probiotics. Also, if you have a specific health issue, there may be a supplement you can take, instead of a med that can cause side effects. I firmly believe your body is strong enough to heal itself, if its given the right nutrients. Make sure to take these supplements with a balanced diet.

Superfoods by David Wolfe AKA Avocado-
I read this book by David Wolfe who is a known in the raw food community as a the Guru. The book is about the super-foods of the world. Wolfe states the super-foods include cacao ( real dark chocolate), green algae, chia seeds, maca, hemp seeds, acai, honey, and goji berries. He says you can eat pounds of other fruits and veggies but it would not compare to the benefits when eating a little amount of these super-foods. Believe it or not, I ordered most of the super-foods on amazon so that I can put it in my smoothies. They were definitely good boosters.

Rules to live by the Dalai Lama-
I’ve reached a point in my life where I realized money and material goods are becoming less important to me. True inner peace is what I’m trying to achieve in life. I have learned it all starts in your mind, the way you think, and the way you act. Life can be hard, money is always needed, and I’m still trying to control my lavish ways. Im trying to look at everything as a lesson learned and practicing forgiveness. Easier said then done, I know. True wealth is good health and inner peace. Also, means being content and cherishing life for what is really offers. It’s easy to get caught up in the fakeness and superficiality in today’s society. So the Dalai Lama gives us rules to keep in my mind as we grow in life.
Following the food combining model will help prevent digestion problems like acid reflux, bloating, and gas. When you mix certain types of food together, you jam your digestion flow. For example, its not good to eat a protein and a carb together, like steak and potatoes. It takes acidic stomach secretions to break down the protein and alkaline stomach secretions to break down the starch. When the two secretions mix, it creates a neutralizing environment in your stomach. The neutralizing results in food not being digested thus, fermenting (rotting) in your stomach….gross! It takes your body hours and a lots of energy to digest that combination. It’s also recommended to eat fruit on a empty stomach, wait 3-4 hours in between meals, and to eat greens with or before protein, so that the veggie’s enzymes can aid your body in digestion.
